RASHTRIYA SANSKRIT SANSTHAN holds ‘YUVA MAHOTSAVA 2011’ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu: September 22, 2011:-On the day 2, of the IV Inter-campus Youth Festival “Yuva Mahotsava – 2011 of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, competitions were held in different sports and cultural events. In sports, preliminary matches in Volley Ball, Kabaddi, Badminton and Kho-Kho (females) were held. In Vollye Ball, Garli (Himachal Pradesh) campus defeated Mumbai (Maharashtra) campus 25 – 15, 25 – 18, 25 – 22. Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) campus defeated Guruvayur (Kerala) campus 25 – 17, 25 – 12, 25 – 12. Jaipur (Rajasthan) campus defeated Shringeri (Karantaka) campus 25 – 21, 25 – 19, 13 – 15. Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) campus defeated Puri (Orissa) campus 25 – 15, 25 – 10. Jammu (J&K) campus defeated Garli (Himachal Pradesh) campus 25 – 15, 25 - 22. In Kabaddi, Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) campus defeated Mumbai (Maharashtra) campus 36 – 5. Jammu (J&K) campus defeated Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) campus 47 – 13. Puri (Orissa) campus defeated Garli (Himachal Pradesh) campus 42 – 21. Jaipur (Rajasthan) campus defeated Guruvayur (Kerala) campus 35 – 3. Mumbai (Maharashtra) campus got walk over on Shringeri (Karantaka) campus. In Kho-Kho (females), Jammu (J&K) campus defeated Guruvayur (Kerala) campus 21 – 3. Garli (Himachal Pradesh) campus got walkover on Jaipur (Rajasthan) campus. Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) campus defeated Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) campus 18 – 3. Puri (Orissa) campus got walkover on Mumbai (Maharashtra) campus. Shringeri (Karantaka) campus defeated Puri (Orissa) campus 11 – 2. In cultural events today, competitions were held in Sanskrit Song, Classical Music (Instrumental), Classical Music (Vocal), On-the-Spot Painting, Rangoli, Mono Acting. The results of Cultural and Academic competitions would be declared on the last day of the Festival. In his address, Special Guest and former Vice Chancellor, Sh. Sampoornanad Sanskrit University, Prof. Abhiraja Rajendra Mishra said that Sanskrit symbolizes Indian culture and Indian culture symbolizes the Indian nation. Thus, Sanskrit is identified with the Indian nation. He especially mentioned the Yuva Mahotsavas organized by Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan as happy consequences of the noble efforts and grand vision of Prof. Radha Vallabh Tripathy. He said that, like Sanskrit, such functions too strengthen national integration. Addressing the Inaugural Function, Sh. Pawan Mehta, Under Secretary, Ministry of HRD, Govt of India, expressed his pleasure on seeing participants from so many states of the country gathering at Jammu. This Youth Festival has provided glimpses of the great Indian nation. He congratulated Prof. Radha Vallabh Tripathy, Vice Chancellor, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sanshtan, for conceptualizing such a great festival and wish him success in his noble endeavour. He also extended his best wishes to the participants. A Group Dance Competition marked the beginning of the series of competitions would continue for the next three days. About 700 participants and teachers and principals besides the staff and students of the host Jammu campus have assembled at Shri Ranbir Campus Kot Bhalwal, Jammu to participate in the four-day Youth Festival in which various competitions in sports, culture and academics would be organized.
