| EXTENSION LECTURE ON CAREER IN MATHEMATICS HELD | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu sep 22:-Mathematics Club of Govt. M.A.M.College in collaboration with Career Counselling Center of the College organized an Extension lecture for the PG students on 22nd September, 2011. Prof. B.S.Komal, a renowned Mathematician was the resource person. Prof. Komal has more than 75 research papers, and also recipient Of Vijay Ratan Award. He gave a lecture on the topic Career in Mathematics. In his presentation, Prof. Komal highlighted the importance of Mathematics in day today life. He threw light on the career in Mathematics while interacting with PG students. His focus was on the Career in Teaching, Actuaries, Operation Research, Finance Sector, Computer Sciences, Astronomy, Cryptography etc. The lecture was followed by an interaction session in which the number of queries were made by the students which were replied by the resource person in a most polite and effective manner.
Prof. Ajeet Angral, Principal of the college in his welcome address expressed gratitude over the visit of an eminent Mathematician. He advised the students to take the maximum benefit from such resource persons to have overall view of the latest trend in the Career in Mathematics. He also congratulated the staff of the PG Department of Mathematics for organizing such type of extension lectures.
Dr. Raj Shree Dhar, PG In charge of the Department introduced the resource person and presented the key note address. Dr. Chander Shekher proposed the formal vote of thanks and Heena Malhotra, a student of 3rd Sem. conducted the proceedings.
Prof. Anju Bala, Prof. Shobha Gupta, Prof. Sushma Chib & Prof. Neetu Singh were also present on the occasion.
