‘Govt should abandon appeasing anti-national elements’ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Sept 22: Jammu East MLA of Bhartiya Janata Party Ashok Khajuria, alongwith district president Rajesh Gupta and a number of senior officials of PHE, PWD, JMC, NBCC and UEED including Ashok Gandotra, B.L.Sharma, Kohli, Meena, Nissar Ahmed and Ravinder Koul, visited Panjtirthi area of the constituency and got started the work of metalling and shingling of road from Panjtirthi Chowk to Chowk Chabutra.
Ashok Khajuria, while speaking on the occasion, said that almost all the areas of Old City has been turned into debris with roads into worst conditions on the name of laying of sewerage pipes.
The people have been facing lot of problems but the government has adopted a discriminatory attitude to the constituency. He said Jammu East Constituency has been represented by BJP for the maximum period and it is the reason why the various departments have been biased in matters related to development and other activities.
Ashok Khajuria said the Chief Minister and others have enough time to raise the controversial issues like clemency to Afzal Guru but never been serious to think about the mitigation of the sufferings of people for which the government departments are directly responsible.
The already suffering people of Jammu city are made to suffer more due to unscheduled power cuts imposed by the PDD. He said the government should abandon its policy of expressing concern for the anti-national elements and focus on the welfare and development.
Khajuria, while assuring the people of the area that the work of black topping will start on first Navratra and thereafter in 3 days the road will be available for the smooth flow of traffic. He warned the government departments not to adopt discriminatory approach towards his constituency and speed the developmental works.
BJP leaders including Shiv Kumar Gupta, Karan Singh, Ramesh Sharma, Ashwani Bali, Sunil Dogra, Vipan Kandhari, Vinod Malhotra, Pardeep Sharma, Arun Sethi, Dalip Gupta, Lalit Sharma, Naresh Abrol and Rajiv Gupta were present on the occasion.
