Addressing a press conference here today, the president Kissan Movement Hurmat Singh and vice president Jai Singh alleged that the state government is adopting anti-farmers attitude and deliberately ignoring to address their long pending genuine demands. They reiterated the demand to open the procurement centre through JAKFED. The tehsil president Kissan Movement Daya Ram Sharma, district general secretary Tarsem Paul Saini and secretary Dr Karam Chand urged the all political and non political organizations to come forward in support of the farmer community in order to make pressure over the state coalition government. They said that farmers have been fighting for the last many years to get the actual rate fixed by the centre government of their paddy produce at Rs 1080 and the opening of the procurement centres in the state through JAKFED but the coalition government has never shown its fundamental duty towards the farmers to solve their problems which has caused frustration and resentment among them.
