MLA Mendhar demands recall of BADP
9/23/2011 9:12:54 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
MENDHAR, Sep 23:Peoples’ Democratic Party senior leader and MLA Mendhar Sardar Rafiq Hussain Khan has accused the government of diverting the funds reserved for Border Area and limiting the border area to LoC only.
In a statement, Rafiq Khan said that there are separate funds reserved for the development of the border area for which the separate plan is prepared with the consultation of local MLA but this year the plan was prepared by DC Poonch who without the consultation of local MLA have prepared the plan in which only adjoining areas of LOC has been brought under Border Area Development Plan (BADP) and have exempted the other areas of the two main Blocks Bala Kote and Mendhar even the works which have been already identified under NABARD and state Plan have been under taken in this plan and huge funds have been released instead of the actual locations having priority for the development work which indicates the inefficiency and highhandedness of some officials in nexus with the contractors to benefit them.
Objecting the present plan, Khan said that this plan having no consultation with concerned MLA and some of the works already stand sanctioned under NABARD and PMGSY even some of the projects have not been sanctioned under public demand.
The works allotted without any tendering and bills were prepared to benefit the particular persons violating the norms.
Demanding recall of the plan and inquiry through vigilance of any other competent authority so that and stern action against the erred officials Khan said that NC regime is totally on its doing their traditional tactics by doing injustice to the people of the border area.
