Bhaderwah localities face acute shortage of K-Oil
9/23/2011 9:15:18 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
BHADERWAH, SEP 23:Contrary to tall claims of the state government to provide sufficient quantity of essential commodities under Public Distribution System (PDS) to masses, the people of Khakhal Mohalla Bhaderwah are facing acute shortage of Kerosene Oil allegedly due to the alleged greed of CAPD officials and K Oil outlet dealers.
It is alleged by the Bhaderwah people that there is sufficient quantity of Kerosene oil in the stores but the dealers often refuse to give it to the consumers saying that the oil is not available and sell it to Matadoor owners.
“This is nothing but the artificial scarcity created by the department so as to give undue benefits to the persons at the helm of affairs. The CAPD officials deliberately delay the fresh allotment of oil just to earn a quick buck from the dealers… There is no doubt that the K-oil is in ample quantity in the stores, however, the dealers have something else to say… The dealers just show empty K-Oil containers…,” said a resident of Mohalla Khakhal seeking anonymity.
Thanks to the false shortage, the people of Bhaderwah particularly those who rely heavily on K-Oil to keep going their kitchens are facing lot of hardships.
“People are running from pillar to post to get K-Oil but to no avail as the dealers display ‘Not Available’ signboards to the unfortunate customers,” said Kabir Malik and added that CAPD has issued K Oil outlet license for Mohalla Khakhal to one Quyoom Khan but the same man has given this license on power of attorney basis to one Zaffar Dar who is private school teacher and is involved in black marketing of K Oil .
“If we approach the CAPD office to register a complaint, the Assistant Director and Tehsil Supply Officer are not available to listen to our woes… Where do we go? We are helpless,” he added
Kabir demanded that the district administration must ensure that the officers concerned should be accessible to the people so that they could be conveyed the grievances and demanded strict action against those K Oil outlet dealers who has given their license to other on commission basis .Local people alleged that CAPD has issued k Oil outlet for Mohalla Khakhal but the self styled outlet man is running it from Chinar Mohalla which is 1 km away from town and said the same outlet holder are involved in overcharging .
A few others when contacted by this scribe said that some of the people managed to meet the TSO and asked him about the reasons of K-oil shortage in Khakhal Mohalla Bhaderwah viz a viz flawed allotment of the essential commodity.
“The supply of K-Oil in other parts of the region is up to the mark but here in Bhaderwah town it is erratic thanks mainly to the official apathy. We met TSO to know the inconsistency… He told us that the department can not make allotment until and unless a requisition along with the consumed quantity of K-Oil is received,” maintained a local.
When this correspondent contacted AD Food Doda he said strict action under law will be initiated against one Zaffar Dar who is impersonated himself K Oil outlet owner of Khakhal Mohlla and is involved in black marketing.
