ADB Review Mission concluded visit to Jammu | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sep 23: The three day long visit of a 2-member ADB team to Jammu to review the ongoing works under Multi Sector Project for Infrastructure Rehabilitation (MPIRJK) concluded here today. The team comprising Project Officers AK Motwani and Suagata Das Gupta reviewed Works being executed by Economic Reconstruction Agency under Loan 2151- IND. ADB Team had detailed meeting with O.P. Dubey, Director (Urban), Khalid Muzaffar, Director (Transport) and other ERA officials and Consultants. ADB Team expressed satisfaction on the overall progress of 95 % under Urban Sector and 65 % under Transport Sector achieved so far. ADB was informed that out of 53 Awarded Contracts under Jammu division 37 contracts have been completed and an expenditure of ` 488.91 crore has been made out of estimated ` 641.90 crore. The projects under MPIRJK targets upgradation of existing infrastructure facilities in the State of Jammu and Kashmir. It was informed that under Jammu Division, Road Length of 92.36 Kms Out of 167 Kms, 1 Bridge out of 3 Bridges, 52 Nos of Tube Wells (Yielding 22.30 MGD Water), Boria Intake (1.8 MGD), 49 Nos of Storage Reservoirs with total capacity of 8.10 MGD, 332 Kms of Pipe Lines and 42.48 Kms of Deep Drains have been completed and put to use. ADB expressed need for timely handing over of the created assests to the Line Departments so that regular maintenance of the created assets are undertaken and also the optimum benefits are realized/ passed on to the public. ADB Team visited sites of completed/ ongoing works at Boria Intake, Boria Filtration Plant – Electrical Sub Stations – Pumping Machinery, Greater Kailash Tube Well, Company Bagh, Medical College – Pay and Use Toilet Block, Parade OHT & GLSR, IDD Gah Wajoo Khana – OHT, Kalibari Kathua Hatli Morh Road and Sidhra Surinsar Mansar Road and interacted with the District Development Commissioner, Kathua and Officers of Line Departments. Later the ADB Team had a meeting with the consultants and contractors wherein the package wise review of the progress and problems being faced by contractors was discussed.
