With a dedicated distributor for the region, Nikon India bets big on J&K | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, September 23: Nikon India, the 100% subsidiary of Nikon Corporation, leaders in imaging technology, today announced that they are aiming to explore the potential of the J&K market through an increased presence. To bring their world-class products to their customers, Nikon India is all set to increase its retail footprint across the region. Nikon India intends to increase its current market contribution of 20% in the compact camera category to 25% and maintain its 55% share in the D-SLR camera category through a 360 degree, 120 crore marketing campaign and an increased presence across India. Speaking to a media gathering in Jammu, Mr. Hiroshi Tcakashina, Managing Director, Nikon India said, "The digital camera market in India and the photography industry here is growing at a record pace. We see J&K as an important market for us and hope to explore the potential of this market in the near future. With rising incomes and advancement in technology, our biggest priory at Nikon India is to provide best in class products to our customers. " In keeping with this retail plan, Sajjan Kumar Division General Manager, Imaging Products, Nikon India said, “With our new marketing campaign, we aim to focus our attention on the festive season with the plan to hire over 300 store promoters who will be well trained to further improve the buying experience. The company has already set up 83 D-SLR and COOLPIX zone in India so far in cities like Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Bhopal, Sangli, Baroda & Surat, Behrampur to name a few, while some more are in pipeline”. At the Nikon zone consumers, both professional and enthusiasts, get to touch, feel and experience the COOLPIX cameras, D-SLR cameras along with other accessories and expert guidance, technical knowhow all under one roof.
