| Zonal conference of Railway guards begins today | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sep 23: All India Guards’ Council is organizing 22nd Zonal conference of Northern Railway from tomorrow at Jammu Tawi Railway Station.
Ram Paul Sharma, spokesman All India Guards Council and Senior Passenger Guard J&K informed the media personal that this is for the first time that this conference is going to be held in J&K State.
Sharma, highlighted the main difficulties being faced by the running staff of Indian railway. He said that this conference is organized in J&K for spreading the message of unity and integrity.
Speaking on the occasion, R N Dikshit, Gen Secretary of All India Guards’ Council, said that guards should be included in the pay band-2 with grade pay of Rs 4200 and risk allowance should be given to all categories of guards. He also said that duty of staff should be only of maximum 8 hrs per day.
A K Srivastava , President of All India Guards’ Council from Mumabi said that running allowance showed be given on basic pay and on TA rate as per the Bhalla committee report and arrears of mileage should be given from January, 2006.
