RSS takes serious exception of Omar Abdullah's statement calling PoK as ‘Azad Kashmir’ | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 23: The RSS has taken serious exception to the statement of J&K Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah who called Pak Occupied Kashmir (PoK) as Azad Kashmir and termed it misleading and unfortunate. The RSS chief Dr Mohan Rao Bhagwat who is currently on five days tour of Jammu has reportedly taken the State Government to task for making such controversial statements saying that J&K is an integral part of India and PoK has been under forced occupation of Pakistan. The RSS chief while substantiating his point has made a reference to Parliament's resolution of 1994 in this regard saying not only J&K but PoK is also the part of India. Dr Bhagwat who called the meeting of senior functionaries of the Sangh here said that it was the weak stand of successive government's in India that Pakistan succeeded in raking up Kashmir issue at international foras. But this will not be allowed in future. Taking a serious not of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's statement for calling PoK as Azad Kashmir , Dr Bhagwat said the Centre should seek an explanation from him immediately as the statement is totally in contrast with Indian stand and policies. He warned that Sangh will not tolerate such statements and its cadres who have laid down their lives for national unity and integrity from time to time are ready for any sacrifice to defeat the designs of those forces which are inimical to unity and integrity of India. The sources said that RSS has also taken serious exception to violation of the protocol by the State Government who gave a treatment of state guest to former Prime Minister of PoK though he had visited the Valley of Kashmir to participate in a private function. The Sangh, while expressing serous concern over the style of functioning of the J&K Government has also made it clear that this way the Government has violated the protocol. Moreover allowing PoK ex Prime Minister over the sensitive areas in the state has also drawn a flake from the top leadership of Sangh. The Government by providing the state chopper to Mr Sultan and allowing him to fly over the sensitive areas from defense point of view is against the national interests said a top RSS leader of the state. ``We can't trust Pakistan as every leader of that country is under the influence of ISI and how do we know what was the real intension behind PoK leader to visit over sensitive areas'' he added. The RSS has decided to take up this issue with Union Government also and seek a reply from it that how it allowed the state Government to permit the ex PM of Pakistan to fly over strategic places. |
