PSEJAC strongly criticizes JCC-Govt agreement | Alleges PSU employees duped in negotiations | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sep 24:-Public Sector Employees Joint Action Committee, one of the major constituents of the Government Employees Joint Action Committee (GEJAC) held a symbolic protest against recent agreement reached between Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) and Government. Hundreds of activists of PSEJAC hailing from different PSUs assembled at State Forest Corporation lawns Bikram Chowk here today and burnt the copies of the agreement executed by the JCC members with the Govt. While addressing the demonstrators, PSEJAC leader Sharma alleged that though the PSU employees extended full support to the agitating Government employees from time to time but their issues have not been properly projected and thus stubborn attitude of the Government towards PSU employees did not change. He appealed Chief Minister to be considerate towards PSU employees who are working under similar conditions as that of Government departments and are equally governed by the same Price Index. They should not be treated differently. He demanded high level enquiry into the illegal recruitments in the PSUs disproportionate to the requirement of the organizations. The fact remains that PSUs like other parts of the country were created under socialistic pattern to keep monopolization of different private sectors under check and control. But the lopsided vision of the govt. that PSUs have been created only to make profit and run shops is self contradictory to the concept of its creation. Sharma demanded that with the passage of time and changing scenario in the country, the service sectors where there is requirement by the society their nomenclature should be changed to that of departments with the same workforce and their activities should be diversified according to the need of the time.
