SMVDU organises programme on supply chain management | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KATRA, Sep 24:-The three days executive development programme on “Supply Chain Management- A Strategic Perspective” organized by College of Management, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University was inaugurated today. The programme was organized by College of Management, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. Prof Mukhopadhyay, Dean, College of Management welcomed the guest and participants. He emphasized on the need of active and frequent interactions between industry and academia to match the theory with practice. He said that College of Management in SMVD University always tries to provide an opportunity of interface of academia with the industry in the serene environment and surroundings. It is this interface with the industry that provides for better opportunities to the students of College of Management. Convener of the program, Dr. Sunil Giri briefed the participants of the impending schedule of the program and welcomed the discussion of the problems faced by them in the organizations for solutions. He said that the supply chain is often confused with logistics and it is often seen as an operating efficiency subject. The program had the participation of senior level and middle level management from various organizations such as, United Phosphorus Ltd., Cadila Pharmaceuticals, Lupin Pharmaceuticals, Coca Cola Ltd., Shivam Motors, Ltd., WaterHealth, MIET, IUST. The program received good participation and representation from across the country. He also said that the current leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof R.N.K Bamezai is a motivational factor in organizing these interfaces. The college of management is always ready to embrace the opportunities of contemporary learning with interaction with the industry.
