Rajiv emerges as new Speed Climbing champion | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 24: Rajiv Sharma of Government MAM College emerged as new Speed Climbing champion in the men’s category in the ongoing 11th J&K State Sport Climbing Championship, organised by Mountaineering Association of J&K at Sprawling Buds School, Chinore, here today. Rajiv, a national medalist in the boys’ category, dethroned the reigning boys’ champion, Suraj Singh Plathia of Dogra Law College, Jammu narrowly to claim the title. Suraj and Anil Kumar secured the second and third positions respectively. In women’s Speed Climbing competition, Nikita Sharma of Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School, Jammu emerged victorious while second and third positions were shared by Jaspreet Kour of Dewan Badri Nath Higher Secondary School and Navneet Kour of Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School, Jammu. In the girls category the results were on expected lines with Shazia Kousar of Amba Kids, Panthal (Reasi) retaining her title. Ashima of Oriental Academy, Jammu and Sumiya Kousar of Amba Kids bagged the second and third position respectively. Meanwhile, the competitions in Lead Climbing in the men, women and boys categories were in progress when the last reports filed.
