| GGF to hold a World Gandhian Sammelan on Oct 2 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sep 24:
Gandhi Global Family (GGF) have decided to hold a World Gandhian Sammelan at Vijayawada, Andhra-Pradesh to pay floral tributes to the Father of Nation on his Birth Anniversary at Indira Gandhi Open Stadium where over 2 lakhs of Gandhians engaged towards man-kind service are joining in the proposed mega event.
Addressing a press conference here today, State President, GGF SP Varma said that in this connection, Andhra-Pradesh State Branch and local organizing committee at Vijayawada are working in close co-ordination for the success of Non-Violence Day's mega event.
Verma informed that Symposiums on Truth and Non-Violence in the local schools, Colleges, and Universities have been started and the toppers from each category shall be decorated. Variety of Cultural Programmes from each State shall be displayed on the occasion and three top teams shall also be decorated.
Cultural troops from schools and colleges have also confirmed their participation from Jammu also.
GGF members from all over country including J&K and North-East shall be reaching Vijayawada on October 1. Ghulam Nabi Azad, GGF President, New-Delhi & Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare shall preside over and N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Chief Minister, Andhra-Pradesh shall join as Guest of Honour, Verma said
