JAMMU, Sep 24:-The CRSI meet organized by the Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu, in collaboration with IIIM Jammu concluded here today.
On the final day of the conference, the last and sixth session was chaired by Prof S Chandrasekaran, IISc Bangalore (President, CRSI).
Prof S Ramakrishnan from IISc Bangalore delivered a special lecture on the topic 'Intra-chain and inter-chain self-assembly in polymeric systems'. Dr. M. Anbu Kulandainathan from CECRI, Karaikudi (Tamil Nadu), Dr. Vibha Tandon from Delhi University and Dr. Parmeshwar K Iyer from IIT Guwahati presented the invited lecturers.
On the occasion, Best Poster Awards were presented to the participants by Prof. S. Chandrasekaran, President, CRSI & Prof Meena Sharma, Head, Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu and Convener of the Conference. Manjeet Kour from GNDU, Amritsar; Pallavi, University of Jammu, Jammu; Pooja, GNDU, Amritsar; Rajesh Kumar, CSIR, Palampur; Shivani Mahajan, NIPER, Mohali; Imran Khan, IIIM, Jammu, were the award winners in the poster session. The evaluation of the session was headed by Prof N Jayaraman, Prof Subodh Kumar and Prof K Iyer.
Prof N Jayaraman, Secretary, CRSI, in his address thanked Prof Varun Sahni, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu, Prof Meena Sharma, Convener of the Conference, Dr. Kamal K Kapoor, Organizing Secretary, Dr. Ram Vishwakarma, Director, IIIM Jammu and Dr. S.C. Taneja, IIIM Jammu, for co-organizing wonderfully the North Zone CRSI Meet 2011.
