| NHPC Distributes Scholarship to SC/ST students | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kishtwar , Sept 24:-Dulhasti Power Station, NHPC Limited under its CSR-CD programme distributed scholarship to fourteen students belonging to SC/ST categories of Government schools in Kishtwar. The function was organized in the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Kishtwar and scholarship cheques amounting to rupees Eighty Four Thousand were distributed among 14 meritorious students by Shri M.H.Malik, Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar & Shri Rajeev Hustu, General Manager, Dulhasti Power Station. Each student was given a cheque for rupees six thousand.
Speaking on the occasion, General Manager highlighted the works done by NHPC for creating educational infrastructural facilities for all round support to the student community. He said that NHPC is making every possible effort in the society by reaching out to the needy students living in the remote areas and helping them to pursue their education. District Development Commissioner Kishtwar while speaking, appreciated the efforts made by NHPC for upliftment of poor and deserving students in the far flung areas. He asserted that teachers are pillars of the society and they should lay more stress on preparing the students to learn the modern educational trends to make them compete in all fields.
The selection of students was made on the basis of academic merit, written test and keeping in view the financial need of the students. A total of thirty four students appeared in the test out of which ten girl students and four boys from 9th to 12th classes belonging to SC/ST category were found eligible for scholarship
