EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu , Sept 24Students of Lawrence School stood first in the 1st J&K Choi Kwon Do Inter school championship 2011-12 held at Sidhra. A total of 149 students from seven different school teams participated in this competition. The teams comprised of U 10 & U 14 students in different weight categories. The winning team in this competition was of Lawrence Public School winning a total of 15 Gold, 19 silver & 23 bronze medals. Second position was taken by CFI Martial Arts Club winning 14 gold, 9silver & 1 bronze medals. The third position was taken by Santosh Vidya Mandir winning 5 Gold, 8 silver & 7 bronze medals. The runners up team was Jeevan Jyoti Public School winning a total of 12 medals. The Chief Guest for the prize distribution ceremony was Director Health Services, Dr Madhu Khullar & the Guest of honour was Principal, Lawrence Public School, s S. Joshi. The special guest on this occasion was President, Choi Kwon Do Federatrion, . Ravinder Singh. The students were trained under the supervision of Priyanka Jamwal & Ritu Soia. The Chief Guest after giving away the medals appreciated the students & the Cho Kwon Do trainers for promoting the American Martial Art. She added that involving young students in such activities would lead to developing healthy youngsters with sound bodies & minds.
