RBPS organizes poem recitation competition | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sep 24: In connection with its series of Hindi Divas celebration programmes, the Jammu Kashmir Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Smiti (RBPS) organized an inter-school poem recitation competition at Dewan Badri Nath Vidya Mandir, Mubarak Mandi here today. Students from as many as 10 schools of the city participated in the programme. Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages Savita Bakshi was the chief guest on the occasion while Administrator DBN Vidya Mandir Trust Rajendra Kakkar, presided over the proceedings. Addressing the gathering, Savita Bakshi elaborated upon the significance of Hindi Divas. She said that Hindi is the soul of the nation which serves as a connection within every province of the country. Makkar in his address stressed upon the audience to use more and more Hindi as a medium of communication in their day to day life. Speaking on the occasion, Convener of the Smiti, Prof Satya Pal Shrivatsa highlighted the various activities of RBPS. Smiti’s president Didar Singh thanked the DBN Vidya Mandir’s management for its cooperation in organizing the programme. Others who were present on the occasion include vice president RBPS, Bharat Bhushan Sharma besides KK Shakir, Chand Deepika and Amita Mehta, who adjudged the event.
