| Excise team destroys cannabis plantation across Srg district | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 25: Continuing its drive against the cultivation of narcotics, the Excise Department sleuths today destroyed cannabis plantation over an area of 380 kanals in various parts of Srinagar district.
A team of officers of the department conducted raids in various localities in Srinagar and its peripheries and destroyed the bhang plantation both wild and that cultivated by the people.
The move formed the part of the massive drive launched by the department against the narcotic herb cultivation across Jammu and Kashmir during past some time.
The areas where the illegal plantation was destroyed, included Chanpora, Qamarwari and Sanant Nagar.
Earlier, the department launched a similar drive in Pulwama and Shopian districts and destroyed similar plantation on over 6000 kanal land.
