NC's latest on Modi praise: PDP in alliance with BJP | 'Pot calling kettle black'...........? | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 25: Latest from NC-PDP bickering over Narender Modi is that Ajay Sadhotra, senior NC leader and MLC is now demanding apology from PDP for its leadership for praising Gujarat Chief Minister. The fresh charge of NC levelled against PDP, as per Sadhotra's statement is PDP had entered into alliance an undeclared alliance with Sangh Parivar in 2008. The statement may be a part of the ongoing and continuous war between two rivals on gaining scores over Modi bashing for apparent political reasons. One can also understand some amount of exaggeration and spice added to make the statements controversial in politics. But one fails to understand how politicians and parties can make brazen charges and snub any party for oing anything which it deems wrong , despite knowing well it too has done such things in the past and continues to do so in times of need. The point in reference is NC leader's brazen allegation that PDP's alliance with Sangh Parivar and BJP. The fact, on the contrary remains that NC too has not lagged behind in seeking support or giving them overtly or covertly to BJP or Sangh Parivar so to say not only at the national level but at the level of state politics many times. This is so widely known that NC remained in alliance with the NDA government at Centre and had 'perfect' tuning and understanding with BJP in particular. The understanding continues even now at the level of local level leadership and at high command level between the two parties. Ajay Sadhotra's allegation of PDP having double standards for being in league with BJP or Sangh Parivar sounds ironical in the light of the fact it was NC that extended help to BJP in times of need and the latter too reciprocated with similar gesture when NC sought it. Thought such things and deals happen with undeclared understanding and both the parties try to keep them under cover but certain occasions have been seen when things got exposed brazenly. The Municipal Corporation polls in Jammu in 2005 is one such example when NC extended support to BJP for ensuring victory of its candidate Kavinder Gupta to become Mayor of JMC. It is still fresh in political corridors that BJP which had only 25 votes of its own needed actually 36 for victory. It was NC at that time which offered that support and BJP too reciprocated the gesture by ensuring victory of its candidate as Deputy Mayor. One is prompted to ask is not that understanding and undeclared alliance , a charge which NC is now levelling against PDP. In the backdrop of such realities NC's drumbeating against PDP on Modi or having understanding with BJP sounds so hollow and ironic. And seeking apology from PDP for praising Modi simply sounds flimsy and frivolous. |
