Jammu girls to play for double title in handball | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 26: Making it to the final of both under-19 and under-17 categories, hosts Jammu district girls shall be competing for double title in the two-day inter-district divisional level handball tournament being held at District Police Lines grounds, here under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS). In the under-19 group, Jammu district shall be playing against Udhampur for the title clash tomorrow. Earlier, in the league round, Jammu won both the matches while Udhampur won one and lost other. In all, four teams turned up for participation in this age group. Supriya, Priya and Sudesh remained top scorers from Jammu district. The Results: (League Round): Udhampur bt Kathua 9-01; Jammu bt Kathua 13-01; Jammu bt Udhampur 6-3. Meanwhile, in under-17 age category, Jammu and Poonch have qualified for the final after competing in the league round. Only three teams are taking part in under-17 group with third being Kathua. The Results (League Round): Poonch bt kathua 3-2; Jammu bt Poonch 6-0. In under-14 age group, only two districts turned up for participation, so there will be a straight final tomorrow.
