| Navratra, Dussehra arrangements finalized | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Sept 26: To finalize arrangements for celebration of Navratra and Dussehra festivals in Udhampur town, Deputy Commissioner Baseer Khan convened a meeting with District Officers and prominent citizens of the town, here on Monday.
It was decided in the meeting that the main function would be held at Sports Stadium, Udhampur on October 06, 2011 where the effigies of Ravna, Kumbkarna and Meghnatha would be installed and consigned to flames. DDC also directed the Executive Officer, Municipal Council to give a clean look to the town on these festive occasions well in advance.
To keep a check on rates and quality of eatables, a team of officers comprising Assistant Director, CAPD, Tehsildar, Udhampur, Executive Officer Municipality, Assistant Commissioner Metrology and SHO, Udhampur would conduct frequent visit of market particularly during the festival days to ensure that there should be no over charging.
