Cannabis plantation destroyed in Bandipora, Srinagar | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 26: As a part of massive drive launched by Excise Department against the narcotic herb cultivation, cannabis plantation over an area of 400 kanals was destroyed in Bandipora district today. Excise Department sleuths conducted raids in various areas in Bandipora and its peripheries and destroyed Bhang plantation cultivated by the people. The areas where illegal plantation was destroyed included Kosambad, Hakpora, Wanipora, Chandigam, Palipora and Yarhalpora. On the directions of Excise Commissioner, Anita Gupta, department has launched vigorous drive against narcotic cultivation across Jammu and Kashmir during past some time. Earlier, the team of officers of Excise Department destroyed cannabis plantation cultivation over an area of 380 kanals in Srinagar district and over 6000 kanals in Pulwama, Anantnag and Shopian districts.
