Bhalla takes stock of people’s problems at Nanak Nagar | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 26: Providing better road connectivity and basic amenities to the people at their door steps is the top agenda of coalition government, said Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla, while launching pre-mixing work in D-Block, Gandhi Nagar here today. Being renovated at an estimated cost of Rs 32 lakh, the 5.5 km road link will be completed within next 15 days. Interacting with the locals, Bhalla said that the Government is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people at their doorsteps including drinking water, un-interrupted power supply, road connectivity, healthcare, education and better sewerage system. Bhalla apprised the people that a comprehensive plan has been formulated for up-gradation and expansion of Jammu airport to provide all infrastructural facilities to the passengers adding that for the beautification of Jammu and peripheral areas, the work on developing various parks on modern lines has been executed. He informed that Rs. 7 crore would be spent in next two years for the beautification and development of parks in Gandhi Nagar Constituency. He said that work on several tube-wells and Over Head Tanks is in full swing to mitigate the water scarcity in Jammu city, while the widening work on Kunjwani-Satwari has also been started to reduce the traffic congestion. Minister expressed satisfaction over the pace of work and asked the executing agencies to work with zeal and dedication so that all the projects would be completed in a time bound manner. Minister also inspected the ongoing blacktopping work of Marble Market road, Channi. Earlier, a large number of deputations called upon the Minister and apprised him of their demands and grievances.
