| Muslim Federation welcomes widening of Circular road | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sep 26:-Muslim Federation Jammu has thanked Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for sanctioning four laning of Panjtirthi-Gujjar Nagar Road at the cost of Rs 60 crore for the purpose.
A General Body meeting of Muslim Federation was held under the chairmanship of its President Talat Niaz Qazi here today wherein the proposed widening of Circular road was discussed in detail.
The Federation requested the Chief Minister to personally monitor the project and fix a time frame for its completion, as was being done by former CM Ghulam Nabi Azad for such projects, otherwise this dream of the young Chief Minister will not come true. Muslim Federation wants to bring to the notice of Chief Minister that widening to the same road stood sanctioned 25 years earlier but due to political pressure, the revenue authorities of Jammu District took 25 years to determine rate of compensation to be paid to the house/land owners in this behalf and the work is still incomplete.
The meeting said that the Divisional Commissioner/Deputy Commissioner Jammu needs to be made personally responsible for completion of this important four laning project or PWD Minister should be made accountable for its completion.
The members said that they have full hope in dynamic young Chief Minister that this four laning will be got completed by fixing a definite time frame.
