Young Panthers extend support to protesting SPOs | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sep 26: Young Panthers, the youth wing of JKNPP has warned the state government to concede the genuine demands of SPOs as soon as possible otherwise Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party will join the protesting SPOs and will fight tooth and nail for getting their demands fulfilled. Pushvinder Singh Manhas (Sr Vice President Young Panthers) and Pawan Dev Singh (Sr leader Young Panthers) said that it is a matter of regret that government failed to recognize the bonafide services and scarifies of the SPOs for the cause of the nation. The families of those SPOs who laid their life for the cause of the nation are left starving and government cheated their widows by appointing SPO for the merger honorarium of Rs 3000 only, they added. Panthers leaders said that the SPOs are no less professional than constables and other officials of the police force. Those who rendering their services at the cost of their life are left in isolation and no heed has been paid towards them. There is no clear cut government policy for the welfare of these devoted officials of the police force and dilly-dally tactics have been adopted by the govt. from time to time. It is pitiable that the said officials are deprived of their regular services and their appointment as constables on the mere pretext that the basic qualification for appointment as constable is 10th pass, where as when these SPOs were recruited in the department the prescribed qualification was 8th pass. Govt. also deprived them of other service benefits like SRO 43 and other welfare schemes. It discouraged their professional moral and devotion towards duties.
