JAMMU, September 26: The inhabitants of villages of tehsil Hiranagar and tehsil Samba organized a people’s conference at a village ground of the two districts Kathua-Samba to mark serious protest against the anti people policies of state as well as central government for not responding to the genuine demands of people of area who are representing peacefully since 1992.
Men, women and children from Pacca Kotha, Parongli, Kadetar, ,Said, Nouni, Sohal, Loukhali, Badoli, Bela, Patayari, Odh, Kannah, Nichala, Surara, Rattanpur, Ratwana, Sohla, Dasian, Barah , Badla, Karaki, Samatyal, Sandhi, Sangwali, Balooni, Jatwal,Chhapar, Ghai, Thangar Daki, Dhabbar, Chandli, Chanoori, Dewaka, Pathwal etc.,) protested and raised slogans.
While addressing the gathering National President ,Internationalist Democratic Party, I D Khajuria ,questioned the functioning of Defence Ministry of Union Government and State Government who are not acting on their own orders and rules in favour of people.
They said that in 1993 Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, directed tehsildar, Samba to rehabilitate the inhabitants of villages, Chandli,Dhaki and Dhabbar by allotting suffer places videno.LH-2/90 dated:-20-9-1993, even in 1997,tehsildar, Hiranagar gave detailed report, vide his office no. OQ/82/dt.5-9-1997 to Deputy Commissioner, Kathua after on spot inspection that affected area has become barren land. He also requested to higher authorities to shift this range.
Like wise so many times issues have been raised but nothing was done afterwards. In 2003, Deputy Commissioner, Kathua again reminded vide No.DCK/LHS /628-32 dated;-25-8-2003 to the Headquarter 16 Corps C/o 56 APO for payment of damages caused as a result of field firing and Artillary practice under Chhatara Range .
Khajuria, further said that these all facts showing that a high level Scandal has been played by the corrupt authorities and this should be exposed in the interest of “Nation” as well as in interest of villagers. We have represented and still representing with facts to all concerned High ups through lowest one but nobody is responding.
In the conference District secretary, IDP, BL Kandley, Tehsil president, IDP, RamPal, Kissan leader, Suresh Kumar, Dharshan Kumar, Sarpanch SP Singh, Sarpanch,Vaishno Sharma,.
The memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister of J&K through Deputy Commissioners, Kathua and Samba.
