Integrity of Jammu should be maintained at all cost: JSM | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Sept 26: The unanimous opinion of JSM’s meet held contained that integrity of Jammu province should be maintained at all cost and any attempt to break or erode this integrity shall be forcibly resisted. The participants strongly criticized the Kashmiri leadership for its attempts to break the unity of the people Jammu province and divide it on communal lines. It is also exploiting the people and playing the divisive politics on the pretext of sub regional disparities backwardness of certain areas, which non other than Kashmiri leadership, itself is responsible. JSM is of the opinion that all people of Jammu province, irrespective of their religion, caste and creed have been exploited and discriminated against by the Kashmiri leadership. They feel that Kashmiri leadership has always treated Jammuites as second class citizens and deliberately ignored the development of Jammu region with mysterious designs. The communal harmony, peace and tranquility of Jammu and Kashmir State remained always disturbed because of the conspiracies and misdeeds of Kashmiri leaders to serve their vested interests and to black mail the central leadership. The majority in Jammu region wants to over throw the domination of Kashmiri leadership and support the demand of a Separate Jammu State, irrespective of religion and the areas the people belong to. JSM supports the creation of more districts like Basoli/Billawar, R.S Pura, Sunderbani, Hiranagar etc. It demands the decentralization of financial and administrative powers up to panchyat level. It demands the creation of District Development Councils with planning, financial and administration powers. Districts like Kishtwa, Ramban, Reasi, Doda, Poonch and Rajouri require special attention of the State Govt. JSM demands allocation of special funds/packages for these districts to improve road –connectivity, develop tourist spots, local handicrafts and small industrial units, requisite infrastructure for the improvement of the living conditions of the residents of these districts. The member present in the meeting was critical of the article by Dileep Padgaonkar that appeared section of media that reflects the mindset of the interlocutors and the recommendations that they are going to make. It said that Kashmir requires political settlement that upholds its special status in full measure. It further says that this is perfectly legitimate and the national and state constitutions are flexible enough to accommodate it. It is irony that aspirations of the people of Jammu and Ladkah regions who suffered all sort of neglect and discrimination at the hands of Kashmir leaders are once again are going to be ignored. They are once again being forced to get dragged along with the wishes of the Valley (particularly the separatists). It is a time for the people of Jammu and Ladakh regions to say boldly and bluntly with all the force in their command to the Govt. of India that “Give to Kashmir what ever the centre wants but free us from its domination and slavery”. Prominent among others who were present in the meeting were. Khajuria, Nathu Ram Gupta, Varinder Magotra, Brig(Retd) Anil Gupta, Chandra Uday Sharma, Surjeet Singh, Davinder Sharma, Vikram Gaur, Rajinder Gupta, Ved Parkash Sharma Vijay Kumar, V.D.Dogra, Divender Singh Jamwal, Yash pal Gupta.
