| JUTA Election | | JUTA is a dead and defunct Union: Gupta | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sept 26: “The fact that all the office bearers except president of new Jammu University Teachers Association (JUTA) got elected unopposed is a telling saga of antipathy of teachers towards JUTA election”, said Dr. Rajender Gupta in a press conference here today.
Gupta who is also contesting the JUTA elections addressing to the media has said that we deserve better, to bring life, trust, energy and a sense of possibility among the teachers about JUTA.
Appealing for ballot Gupta said that there are two other contestants for the post of president ship, one remained president for last two years and desires for some more terms and the other one is director, academic staff college (a part of administration), Since, I am the only contender who can press upon the authority for the long pending demands of teachers being not a part of establishment and in fact, JUTA in true sense.
He further said that the JUTA has lost the credibility of teachers and, “I promise to turn this dead and defunct union as a symbol of teachers, collective strength by engaging them at every step in their fight for what they deserve”.
