Pak threatens US, meek Indian leadership surrendering
9/27/2011 12:27:08 AM
Rustam
JAMMU, Sept 26: Yesterday afternoon, Pakistan, which had already threatened the United States that it would lose its strategic ally (Islamabad) if continued to accuse ISI of working in unison with the Haqqani terror network and not allow any foreign power to tinker with its sovereignty, took another step to demonstrate that it is a nation that cannot compromise its self-esteem and honour. Pakistan Prime Minister Gilani yesterday asked Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar to cut short a visit to the United States and return to Pakistan. Khar was representing Pakistan in the UN General Assembly in New York. This action on the part of the otherwise failed Pakistan, plus the stand Pakistani President, Prime Minister, Interior Minister and Chief of the Army Staff took on the American allegations, does establish that the Pakistani civil and military establishments are prepared to go to any extent to protect the Pakistani sovereignty.
Compare the Pakistani diplomacy/foreign policy with that of the Congress and the UPA and you would see for yourself how meek, week and irresponsible the Indian leadership is. In the United States, one 9/11 happened and the American administration undertook measures calculated to deter terrorists and ensure that they did not again dare to strike anywhere in the United States and it has succeeded thus far. Pakistan has been blooding and convulsing the Indian political scene, particularly since 1989, and its stated objective is to avenge its defeat and humiliation at the hands of the Indian Army in 1971 that resulted in the emergence of an independent and sovereign Muslim Bangladesh out of the Muslim Pakistan and to dismember India by annexing Jammu and Kashmir, an integral part of India constitutionally, politically and morally. It has engineered innumerable terror attacks in India, including the December 13, 2001 Parliament terror attack and 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, and caused innumerable bomb blasts across the country, including in our religious places, schools, trains and buses and taken away thousands and thousands of our innocent lives, including women, children and our dedicated and committed soldiers. Besides, it has been consistently seeking to disturb the socio-religious equilibrium in India through its dubious machinations, including its attempts to provoke revolt in Kashmir against India. Not only this, ever since 1989, Pakistan has been consistently firing on our soldiers who are guarding our borders and neutralizing and controverting the pernicious influence of anti-India elements operating from the Indian soil itself.
It is no use reflecting more and more on what Pakistan has been doing since 1989 to bleed and break India to "finish" what it calls the "unfinished agenda of partition" (integration of Indian Jammu and Kashmir into Pakistan because it is a Muslim-majority area). For, the Indians across the country are victims of the Pakistani terrorism and they are fully aware of everything. Suffice it to say that Pakistan is not just aggressive and provocative, but it is also unscrupulous and canny which has been using deadly terror as a state policy to accomplish its evil designs in the region, including India. Its involvement in terror-related barbarous activities in India is from head to toe.
What has been the response of the Congress and the UPA? One, neighbours cannot be changed but borders could be rendered irrelevant. In other words, willingness of the country's ruling class to negate the very idea of India; there can't be any sovereign state, sans borders. Two, we are prepared to discuss with Pakistan all issues, including the issue of Jammu and Kashmir. In other words, the Congress and the UPA don't regard the state as an integral part of India to the same extent as other states of the Union. Three, non-territorial solution could be a solution to the so-called Kashmir problem. In other words, the Congress and the UPA are toying with the idea of fulfilling the Pakistani communal urges in Jammu and Kashmir through a mechanism that allows Pakistan to share sovereignty with India in Jammu and Kashmir. Four, Pakistan, like India, is a victim of terrorism. In other words, India, unlike other countries, doesn't believe that Pakistan is the epicentre of global terrorism. Five, the Indian Army and paramilitary forces must exercise maximum restraint against those in Kashmir and elsewhere out to destroy and break India even if the provocation is grave and the security forces are under severe attack. Six, the solutions which are applicable to other parts of the country cannot be replicated in Kashmir because Kashmir has a unique history and unique geography. In other words, the Congress and the UPA, like many other formations in the country, consider the Kashmiri Muslims a race apart. Seven, there is the need to evolve a broader consensus on the issues of greater autonomy and self-rule within the vast flexibilities provided by the Indian Constitution. In other words, the Congress and the UPA are prepared to allow Jammu and Kashmir to go out of the Indian Constitution. Eight, don't give any credence to the provocative statements on Jammu and Kashmir being issued by the men at helm in Pakistan because the same are for local consumption. Nine, we are prepared to snub and humiliate our own Home Secretary and others in order to keep Pakistan in good humour. The case in point is what the uninspiring and incompetent Foreign Minister SM Krishna only recently told in New Delhi after concluding his failed and humiliating Thimpu Foreign Minister-level meeting. He openly rebuked the then Home Secretary GK Pillai and held him responsible for vitiating the atmosphere on the eve of the talks. The fault of Pillai was that he had commented on the US reports on the Pakistani involvement in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. Earlier, at Thimpu, Krishna had shamed India by sharing dais with the then Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi who equated Pillai with the dreaded terrorist Hafiz Saeed and that, too, in his presence. Krishna thought it prudent not to retort.
But these are only a few of the several such other responses of the Congress and the UPA to what Pakistan has been meticulously doing to dismember India and ensure another communal partition of the country. And, all these responses clearly suggest that our meek and weak authorities are surrendering step-by-step and bringing shame to India. This will not do. They are playing a dangerous game and the nation will defeat them.
Will the Congress and the UPA ape Pakistan to take, expose and isolate Pakistan? Indeed, a very difficult question to answer.
