Kishtwar, Sept 26: In a shocking incident at Kishtwar, the dispute between the members of same family led to firing and stone pelting when one of the disputed party didn't allow to bury the dead body of a newly born baby at his ancestral grave yard near Hudri Kishtwar late last night. According to the people, a newly born female baby of Shameema Begum died soon after birth at District hospital Kishtwar at 2.30 PM on Sunday. After finishing the formalities, the father of the deceased baby Pervaiz Ahmed Bazdhar son of late Abdul Rashid Bazdhar Resident of Link road Kishtwar along with locals went to his ancestral graveyard near Hudri village for burial purpose. After reaching near the graveyard, Pervaiz's uncle Noor Hussain Bazdhar who was already waiting inside the graveyard along with his supporters stopped the people from entering inside the graveyard, which resulted into heated exchange from both the sides. The duel took an ugly turn after Pervaiz uncle Noor Hussain opened two shots of gun fire to disperse the funeral crowd , in which one person namely Jahginger Hussain Son of Mohammad Azad resident of Ghurian Kishtwar got injured. Jahinghir who went to graveyard to attend the funeral was later admitted to District Hospital Kishtwar late last night. In the mean time police also reached the spot and pacified the situation.
In the morning, the news about the incident spread like wildfire, as a result of which the people close to Pervaiz Ahmed along with relatives of Jahinghir Hussain assembled at the residence of Parvaiz Ahmed. They held peaceful protest outside the DC office Kishtwar and blocked the National Highway for more than two hours. The people demanded arrest of all the accused involved in attack on the funeral party as well as against Noor Hussain Bazdhar who opened fire. It was after the hectic efforts of District Administration Kishtwar and Immam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar, the deceased baby was later buried at ancestral graveyard. Meanwhile the family members of injured Jahinghir Hussain have accused the police of shielding the culprits and demanded immediate arrest of all the accused, beside seizure of the weapon used in firing on funeral party.
