Do not hurt religious sentiments of people, speaker to members

Srinagar, Sep 27 : Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone today advised the legislators not to hurt the religious sentiments of people.
The members should not take up the issues which could hurt the religious sentiments of the people, he told members in the house today.
He said Grand Mufti of the Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti Bashiruddin has also shown concern on the remarks by Independent MLA from Langate Engineer Abdul Rashid in the house yesterday.

Er Rashid had referred to ring tone of a mobile phone of a senior state government officer.

Mr Lone directed the legislators to desist from making such remarks which could hurt the sentiments and faith of the people in future.
However, Er Rashid, who has moved a resolution in the house, seeking mercy to Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, clarified that he had been misunderstood adding he never meant to hurt anybody's sentiments
