Youth die due to alleged negligence of PHC Banara, Majalta
Two Doctors among three suspended by administration

UDHAMPUR, Sep 27:Hundreds of Majalta residents today blocked Dhar road at Barnara disrupting normal traffic against the alleged death of a youth caused due to negligence Doctors and medical staff of Primary Heath Centre Banara who were not on duty at the time when youth injured in a road accident was brought their for medical treatment .
Local residents staged massive demonstration and blocked movement of traffic on Dhar road for about five hours alleging that no proper treatment was given to the injured person in a road accident last evening. They demanded action against erring doctor and other medical staff.
According to local resident Advocate Susheel Sharma an accident occurred near Banara on road in Majalta tehsil late last night in which a youth Mohan Lal son of Nek Ram resident of Neeli Nallah received serious injuries. Locals shifted youth to nearby Banara PHC immediately but found no doctor or medical staff present there and later shifted thee victim on their own to Government Medical College Jammu who later succumbs to his injury on way.
Sarpanch, Banara Rajesh Kumar, Sarpanch Thial Kuldeep Singh, Dharam Singh and Chain Singh alleged that injured was admitted in the hospital late in the evening but due to absence of doctor and medical staff there, he succumbed to his injuries” on way to Jammu. They alleged that it is amazing that even after the death of youth block Medical officer Majalta did not bother to come on spot to pacify agitating people for their utter failure in providing timely Medicare to injured youth .They added that area lacks heath facilities and concerned department turn deaf ears towards them
Meanwhile, Sapna Kotwa, Tehsildar Majalta, Additional SP Rajinder Gupta and Chief Medical Officer reached on spot and pacified the protesters assuring action against erring officials.
Tehsildar on the directions of Deputy Commissioner B A Khan placed Dr Neha working under NRHM, Aseem Sharma and Driver Dalip under suspension. She added that Doctor Vinod Khajuria has been assigned charge of PHC Banara with immediate effect.
