| Jammu girls bag U-19, U-17 handball titles | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sept 27: Beating their opponents in one-sided contests, hosts Jammu district clinched both under-19 and under-17 titles in the two-day inter-district divisional level handball tournament, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports at District Police Lines, here today.
In the under-19 final, Jammu outplayed district Udhampur by seven goals to two. Later, in under-17 category, again Jammu girls emerged winner beating their counterparts from district Poonch 4-1.
Earlier, in a league match of under-17 age group, Jammu blanked Kathua 9-0.
Meanwhile, competition in the under-14 category could not take place after only two teams turned up for the event.
It is pertinent to mention here that only out of ten districts participated in under-19 category while the under-17 age group had just three participating teams.
