| Qarra to end estrangement with PDP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Sept 27: After more than two-years of estrangement, Tariq Hamid Qarra has decided to end his differences with Peoples Democratic Party.
Sources told KNS that on the intervention of senior party leaders like Muzaffar Hussain Beig, Qarra was motivated to end his estrangement with the PDP.
“Beig on the instructions of PDP president Mehbooba Mufti and party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has started negotiations with Qarra from the last five months. Finally Qarra met Mehbooba recently at her Gupkar residence where the matter was sorted out,” party sources said.
When contacted by the KNS Mehbooba confirmed that Beig had been deputed to clarify any misunderstandings with Qarra.
Sources told KNS that Beig and Qarra held a marathon four-hour meeting at Hotel Taj Vivanta last evening where the modalities of Qarra’s return back were finalized.
Qarra confirmed to KNS that the meeting between him and Beig occurred. “I also met Mehbooba jee,” he said.
Asked whether he will again start taking part in party programmes, he said, “I’ve said it previously also that politics is art of possibilities. We had some misunderstandings which have been cleared. There is difference of opinion in every political party. Such things get solved with time,” he added.
After his estrangement with PDP, there were rumors that Qarra will float his own party or join emerging third front. However, today’s development has put such speculations to rest.
