| DM issues regulatory orders for sale, storage of crackers | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sep 27:-In exercise of his regulatory powers, the District Magistrate (DM), Jammu, Sanjeev Verma has imposed certain restriction on sale and storage of crackers and explosive material in the public interest.
As per the order no fireworks crackers of explosive material shall be stored or sold in a place other than those specified by DM within the Jammu Municipal limit and by respective Tehsildars outside it.
Stalls for sale of fireworks, crackers etc shall be put by concerned dealer only at the places mentioned in their license after getting clearance from the Deputy Director, Fire Services, the police and municipality/NAC and revenue authorities.
The maximum amount of explosive which may be kept at any particular time in license premises shall not exceed the quantity given in clause 7 Div-2, Sub Div-II of the explosive rule SCIV.
Electrical fittings in the premises shall be of a fixed type and not in the close vicinity of the stocks of the explosive. No loose electrical fitting shall be provided therein, no person under-18 years of age or who is in a state of intoxication or of unsound mind shall be employed on loading/unloading or transportation of explosive or be allowed to enter in licensed premises.
No explosive which are not authorized under rules or prohibited under section-6(A) of Act shall be possessed or sold from the premises, chocolate bomb, chian cracker, (kall pataka, loose cracker) dhani pataka, dadoma, seven shots, rocket bomb, garland patakas, stat bomb etc shall not be sold by the wholesale cracker dealer/retail cracker dealer to restrict the noise level, no person or body of persons shall stock the crackers or other fireworks for wholesale purpose before October 11 without valid license, no retail sale of crackers or other fireworks shall be undertaken by any authorized person before October 19 or after the Diwali festival, the crackers and other explosive material shall contain a price tag which shall not be more than the price printed on each explosive. The price printed shall be deemed to include all local taxes even if the printed price specifically reads ‘Local Tax Extra’.
In case any wholesaler or retailer contravenes any of the conditions specified above, not only the permission granted in his favour shall be cancelled and his stocks seized from him and shall be liable for prosecution also. The order shall come into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force for a period of 60 days from the date of issue of the order.
