| Works under PWD, ERA reviewed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, Sep 27:To review the physical and financial achievements registered under Public Works Department(R&B) upto ending August, 2011 in the district, the District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Baseer Ahmed Khan convened a meeting of engineers here on Tuesday.Joint Director Planning, Superintending Engineer PWD, Executive Engineer, PWD, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Education officer, Officers of Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA), Ground water and Drilling Division Jammu attended the meeting.
During the meeting detailed review was held on the progress of various schemes under state, district and NABARD sectors, besides construction programme of Education Department was also discussed.
Addressing the meeting, the DDC instructed the officers of R&B Department to avoid cost overrun on the schemes under NABARD sector. He also emphasized the need for timely submission of utilization certificate to the concerned authority for release of next instalment. Khan asked the officers to submit scheme wise detail of additionality alongwith photographic evidences to planning section of his office for record and references.
The current status of major projects already identified by Special Task Force was also come under discussion and necessary instruction were issued to the executing agency (PWD) to complete all formalities for the time bound execution of the works.The status of the Udhampur-Ramnagar road, Chenani- Sudhmahadev Road and execution of hand pumps recommended by MLAs and DDC was also reviewed in the meeting.
