World Tourism Day celebrated at Katra | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KATRA, Sep 27:To celebrate World Tourism Day, a symposium on the topic “Tourist Places of Jammu and Kashmir and their Significance” was held at Government Girls High School Katra, which was organized by Hotel and Restaurant Association in collaboration with the school. Additional SP Katra, Mohan Lal was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, the Additional SP appreciated the Association for organizing such an informative event which will immensely held the youth to know more about tourism industry and its scope. He also asked the concerned authorities to strictly enforce ban on polythene bags for pollution free environment. Earlier, Headmaster of the School, Harish Dubey in his welcome address highlighted the importance of the day besides the role of tourism industry in the state. In all, 11 students of the school participated in the symposium and Simriti Sharma, student of 10th class adjudged first, Babli and Veenita of 10th class declared second and third respectively.
