NSF paid tribute to Bhagat Singh | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 27: National Secular Forum (NSF) today organized a programme in Jammu University (JU) on the birth anniversary of Shaeed Bhagat Singh who laid his life for the country. The activists distributed sweets among the students, scholars and faculty member to remember the great revolutionary. Students and scholars paid rich tributes to Bhagat Singh and garlanded the portraits of the martyr. Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik HoD Urdu department was the chief guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Prof Malik appreciated the initiative taken by the forum member to remember the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country.
He also stressed upon the youth to shun their self centered outlook and contribute in the development of the nation. He also said that Bhagat Singh was an Indian freedom fighter, considered to be one of the
most influential revolutionaries of the Indian independence movement.
He made a fervent appeal to the youth to come forward to eliminate all evils from the society. “His legacy prompted youth in India to begin fighting for Indian independence and also increased the rise of socialism in India”, he said.
While remembering the great martyr, Rakesh Chib, president JURSEA, said that Singh was hanged for shooting a police officer in response to the killing of great freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai. “His legacy prompted youth in India to begin fighting for Indian independence and also increased the rise of socialism in the country”, he said.
Vikas Sharma, president NSF said students should remember the sacrifices made by the late revolutionary who laid his life for the country.
The programme was coordinated by Sukdev Singh, Surjit Chowdhary District Chairman, Sunil, Kamaldeep Singh, Ravi, Manjit, Anil, Vicky, Mustaq, Ankit, Pardeep, Zamer, Arvind, Balveer and others.
