Home Guards’ protest dharna enters second day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sep 27:-The protest dharna of J&K Home Guards Welfare Association entered second day here today. The dharna is being held under the leadership of president J&K Home Guards Association Kamla Sharma. To express their solidarity with the supporting Home Guards, the support from various organizations continues to pour in. Prominent who extended support to Home Guards including Inder Mohinder Tar Singh (President JD-U), Tulsi Dass Langeh (President BSP) Pavittar Singh (President JPPF), Partap Singh (President National Panthers Student Union), Rajeev Mahajan (President Sri Ram Sena), Pritam Sharma, (President Kranti Dal), Kamail Singh (BMS), Satya Paul Saini (Gen Secretary EPTWS), Gajjan Singh Khajuria, Gian Singh, Daljeet Singh (Vice-President Panthers Party) and Ashok Sharma (Ex-MLA). On the occasion, effigy of Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather was garlanded with currency notes in protest whose ministry, the protesters alleged, had been a hindrance and the home guards are being victimized. Home Guards Association feels that Rs 150 Crore of funds are being sent by Central Government wherever the state government is siphoning these funds to other segments leaving home guards aside. Kamla Sharma said that meagre amount of Rs 545 per month does, specify or justified anyhow.
