20 injured in bus accident near Domail | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 28: About 20 passengers were injured, 15 of them critically, when a Katra bound bus carrying pilgrims turned turtle this morning, while negotiating a sharp curv. Pilgrims, who were on way to take part in the Navratra festival which started today, met accident near Domail while negotiating a sharp curve. The bus bearing number JK02H 7941 had left Jammu in the morning was full of pilgrims mostly from outside the state, when the tragedy struck them on the national highway. Soon after the incident, security forces and police parties reached the spot and started the rescue work. About 12 critically injured passengers were shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, while others were provided medical help at district hospital Katra. “The vehicle skidded off the road and we are investigating the causes for the same. All the injured people were provided first aid at the spot before they were shifted to GMC”, said a traffic police official. Meanwhile due to the accident, movement of traffic was disrupted for more than one hour, as the rescue work was going on at the spot. Till reports last came in most of the injured were responding to the treatment.
