Seminar on role of Red Cross in blood donation | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 28: In order to promote commitment of volunteers towards community, a seminar on role of Red Cross in the service of humanity was organized for hostel boarders. Secretary of Indian Red Cross Society Anil Padha was resource person. While interacting with students, he discussed in detail functioning and working of Red Cross society. He emphasized on the journey of Red Cross Movement and motivated the boarders by sharing the story of Sir G. Henery. He also advised the students to join the Red Cross Mela and disclosed that the students from this college will have a special role. Dr. Ajeet Angral, Principal of the college in his welcome address enlightened the students regarding the need of the hour in blood donation. He advised them to imbibe active role in blood donation for saving the precious life. On the occasion ten students made their presentation on the topic ‘Role of Red Cross- Blood Donation. The Jury members for the competition were Atul Sharma from Department of life long learning, University of Jammu, Dr Mazammal Hussain and Prof. Savita Jamwal. Chetan Mahajan, a student of PG Mathematics stood first, Ravneesh Singh Rana, stood second and Anirudh and Raja Mohammed shared third prize. Programme was compared by Manmohan Singh. Vote of thanks was presented by Prof. I.A.Khan, Warden of the Hostel while the result of the competition was announced by Dr. Raj Shree Dhar.
