| DIG Railway travels by train to Qazigund | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 26: DIG Railway Security A.K.Attri today traveled by train to Qazigund and held meeting with GRP SDPO Qazigund.
Thereafter, Attri proceeded towards Banihal/Qazigund tunnels, held meeting with the construction heads at Qazigund regarding opening status of tunnel. Incharge Construction informed DIG that tunnel is likely to be through shortly as only few meters blocking are required to be cleared.
Hopefully the target i.e., 2013 of train services to reach to Banihal will be achieved. SHOs/ lncharge PPs of GRP projected accommodation problem. They were informed by DIG that the projection for pre-fabricated huts has already been made to PHQ. However, the matter is being followed up. SSP GRP Jammu submitted that there is need to raise the sanctioned strength of man power for GRP.
SSP also requested for availability of ambulances, medical staff and basic communication system for the smooth functioning of GRP Jammu. DIG directed SSP to submit a detailed requirement to RHQ for its further action at RPHQ level. During meeting, SSP said that two x-ray machines of GRP Jammu are out of order, which need to be replaced by new ones, as the machines are required to check baggage of the passengers.
