| Legal Metrology fines Rs 15000 on trader for overcharging. | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Sept 28:Acting on the complaint of the local residents of Kour against the trader M/S Suraj Kant Wine shop for overcharging on the sale of liquor, Ms Pooja Kumari Inspector Legal Metrology, Akhnoor conducted inspection of the said trader by sending dummy consumers, it was established that the shopkeeper was indulging in the practice of overcharging against the price fixed by the office of Excise Commissioner .The trader was booked under the relevant provisions of Weights and Measures Act and a fine of Rs 15,000 was imposed and recovered as composition money. The trader was warned not to indulge in the practice of overcharging and desist from such practices to cheat the gullible consumers failing his case will be referred to the concerned authority for stringent action.
