| NPSU protests Afzal clemency resolution | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sep 27:National Panthers Students Union held a massive protest demonstration at SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu to oppose clemency to Afzal Guru who was convicted for parliament attack and has been awarded the death sentence by the Supreme Court.
Lovekesh Gondhi and Ishan Choudhary, who were leading the protest demonstration, said that every citizen of India is against the clemency to Afzal Guru and even the student community of Jammu also opposed to it.
They said that Afzal Guru should be punished as per the direction of Supreme Court.
The protesting students burnt the effigy of Omar Abdullah and shouted slogans against state as well as centre govt.
While addressing the gathering Partap Singh Jamwal (Provincial President NPSU) blamed CM Omar Abdullah, MLAs and ministers of Congress for supporting the resolution seeking clemency to Afzal Guru, submitted by Er Rashid, MLA Langate. He said that CM has taken oath as per Indian constitution and he must respect the sentiments of people of country and he has no right to favour resolution seeking clemency to Afzal Guru.
