| Navratra Festival-2011 | | Kavi Sammelan concludes | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sep 29:Katra, culture club organized 3rd Kavi- Sammelan- cum- felicitation function at Bus Stand Katra as part of the ongoing Navratra festival.
DIG Udhampur-Reasi range Jagjeet Kumar was the chief guest on the occasion and Additional S P Katra Mohan Lal presided over the function. Guests of Honour were Sher Singh Naib Tehsildar Katra, Babu Ram Dubey Chairman Hotel and Restaurant association Katra, Kushal Magotra President Hotel and Restaurant Association Patnitop.
The Kavi-Sammelan got the thumping response from the audience in its maiden entry into the Navratra festival. The poets enthralled the audience by their recitation who equally complimented the efforts of poets by big applauses.
Club members along with the chief guest felicitated eminent writer Prof. Shiv Nirmohi and renowned social activist Harish Dubey headmaster Govt. Girls high School Katra conferred with best teaches award by Education department for rendering outstanding performances in their respective fields.
They were felicitated by presenting shawls, mementos and ceremonial turbans by the chief guest. The poets were honoured by presenting shawls by the chief guest.
Earlier the function was inaugurated by the chief guest by lighting a lamp in presence of Shiv Kumar Sharma Chairman, Sardari Lal Dubey vice Chairman, Virender Kesar President, Ramnik Sharma vice President, Raj Kumar Sharma general secretary, Naresh Shastri secretary of the club.
The poets who recited their poems in the Kavi Sammelan include Headmaster Gopal Krishan Kamal, Raj Kumar, Bishan Dass Gharia, Braham Sarup Lakhanpal, Madam Usha Kiran, Veena Heera, Sham Talid, Kamal Singh Kamali, Surinder Singh Manhas, K.K Gandotra, Raj Rahi, Mohd Rasheed Rai, Romesh Panhotra.Vote of thanks was presented by the Chairman Sh. Shiv Kumar Sharma in which the extended thanks to Dr. Mandeep Bhandari Add. CEO, SMVD Shrine board, Tourism Department, Municipal Committee Katra, J&K Police, J&K Bank, Print and electronic media and people of Katra.
The prominent citizens present on the occasion were Advocate Kuldeep Kumar Dubey, R.S Manhas, Ambrish Magotra, Manish Kapoor, Advocate Sandeep Padha, Shashi Bhushan Sadhotra, Jitender Pujari.
