| Status quo on LC cross voting issue: Speaker | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Sept 29 : Speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone today announced status quo on the issue of cross voting by BJP legislators in the election of Council members in line with the interim High Court ruling.
“Since the issue is subjudice, I am constrained to announce status quo till the verdict comes from the court on the issue. My action at the moment could influence or contradict the verdict that the court would give in due course of time while disposing off the case”, he said.
The continuous noisy scenes by the Congress legislators, however, forced him to read out the statement sent to him by the BJP high command regarding the expulsion and suspension of six members of the party.
