CAPD team charges Rs 5900 fine during market checking

EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 29-A team of the officials of CAPD Department, headed by Assistant Director (enforcement), today imposed a fine of Rs 5900 on various business establishments for violating provisions of essential commodities enforcement Act.
The team conducted surprise checking in Gandhinagar, Nanak Nagar and Bahu Fort and checked dhabbawallas, sweets, fruit and vegetable shops. The inspecting team charged fine on the business establishments found overcharging and not issuing bills for the sold items, besides those who had not displayed the rate list at the shops.
An amount of Rs.5900 was recovered from the defaulters. Shopkeepers were directed to abstain from any violation and warned that those found doing so shall be dealt strictly as warranted under rules
