| Former BJP leader joins PDP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sept 29: Former BJP women leader Geeta Thakur along-with workers joined People Democratic Party (PDP) here today.
Led by Geeta Thakur, Santosh Kumari, Geeta Sharma, Chanchala Devi and others met Mufti Mohd Sayed and joined PDP while reposing full faith in the leadership.
The newly joined aspirants assured him that the party programs will be taken to the people.
The joining was motivated by senior PDP leader Capt Anil Gour. In the same function prominent Social Workers Rakesh Singh Chib, Haji Abdul Rashid and Haji Bashir Ahmed of Channi Himmat along-with Dr. Suraj Prakash Gupta and Er Romi Sharma from Jammu West also joined PDP on the persuasion of Choudhary Hussain Ali Wafa and R K Bali.
PDP General Secretary Balbir Singh, while welcoming all these people to the party fold congratulated them on taking the decision to join PDP under the leadership of Mufti Mohd Sayeed and Mehaboba Mufti.
He asked them to start working for spreading the message of the party leadership amongst the masses at grass roots level.
He urged them to work with dedication and spread the message that PDP is the only party which is working for the welfare of the people of the state without any discrimination and will ensure the equitable development of all the three regions of the state.
T S Bajwa, Vice President, Ved Mahajan, Shanti Devi, Daman Bhasin, Fallal Singh, Suresh Sharma, Rashid Malik, Mohinder Kotwal, Vijay Dogra, Ashok Jogi, Rajinder Manhas; Rafiq Malik, S. Narinder Singh Raina and all Zonal Presidents & Secretaries of Jammu District were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, reposing full faith on the policies and program of People Democratic Party several persons, prominent among them Avtar Singh, Vishal Dhotra, Gharu Ram Bhagat, Rohit Charak, Surjit Phounsa, Ram Murti etc of Vilages Sarore, Karyal and Ratnal joined PDP in a simple and impressive function at Sarore before Som Nath Dogra, a senior leader of PDP.
