| Committee constituted to examine functioning of PSUs | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Sep 29: State government today constituted a committee to examine functioning and right sizing of various state public sector undertakings.
This was stated by the Minister for Finance Abdul Rahim Rather today in the Legislative council in a reply to a question raised by B.R. Kundal. Minister said that the State Government has constituted a committee under the Chairmanship of the then Financial Commissioner, Home Department, B.R.Kundal, which has submitted its report to the Government on January 18,2007 alongwith its recommendations.
He said that according to the recommendations of the committee, the state government has extended VRS/GHS support to some ailing State PUSs to help them to overcome their financial difficulties to meet their establishment cost. He said that down/rightsizing of ailing State PSUs is only one of the measures needed to relieve the Corporation of mounting establishment costs.
